Didayer Snyder and My Expressions of Kindness Campaign

Hi everyone!  I’m Didayer Snyder, a carpenter, interior designer and advocate for affordable family housing. Through my work, I’ve had the incredible fortune to help families who have fallen on difficult times get back what so many people take for granted: a home.  These experiences and the wonderful people I’ve met have changed my life forever. Like the work Make It Right does day in and day out to build safe, green and affordable homes for working families in the Lower 9th Ward who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, it all comes down to the age-old idea of supporting our neighbors by extending kindness wherever – and whenever – its most needed.  And with the five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina coming up this August, there’s no better time to lend a helping hand than now.

That’s why I’m so thrilled and honored to be supporting Make It Right through the My Expressions of Kindness charitable campaign.  The campaign was created by multi-specialty healthcare company, Allergan, Inc., to celebrate acts of kindness around the country by raising funds for three deserving charities, including Make It Right.

Getting involved in the campaign to help Make It Right is easy and fun! All you have to do is log-on to the campaign Web site at http://www.ExpressKindnessCampaign.com and share what kindness means to you by completing a My Expressions of Kindness profile in support of Make It Right.  It only takes about ten minutes, and when you’re finished, Allergan will donate $25 to Make It Right on your behalf.  And you can raise even more money with just the click of your cursor: post a link to your My Expressions of Kindness campaign profile on your Facebook page and an additional $5 donation will be made!  The same is true when you post a link to your profile on Twitter.  And spread the word: The more people who create a profile in support of Make It Right, the more money we’ll raise!

I helped to launch the campaign at an event in New York City in March, where I had the pleasure to meet Tom Darden and sit with him on a “kindness” panel.  Tom’s words were so inspiring to me and everyone in the room.

Kindness is contagious.  Pass it along by showing your support for Make It Right at http://www.ExpressKindnessCampaign.com today!
